Brendan Fitzgerald was appointed to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra double bass section in 2019 by Music Director Stéphane Denève. Prior to this, he spent two seasons in the Seattle Symphony. From 2015 to 2017, he was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, during which time he was a regular substitute musician with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Since moving to St. Louis, he has made regular guest appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, and Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Summer engagements include the Sun Valley Music Festival, Lakes Area Music Festival, and Bellingham Music Festival (where he has served as Principal Bass since the 2022 summer season).
Brendan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University, where he studied with Andy Raciti. Off the stage, he enjoys disc golf, barbecue, and craft beer.
