The Lakes Area Music Festival cello section is sponsored in memory of Mary Anne Bennett, through funds held at the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation. Mary Anne was a crucial part of the formative decade of the organization, serving as the first board chair and championing volunteerism and radical hospitality. She was a cellist in many community orchestras and ensembles.
