Judy Garland Tribute – MINNEAPOLIS

Program of Garland classics, to be announced from the stage

From the vaudeville houses of central Minnesota to the silver screen and Carnegie Hall, Judy Garland’s legacy continues on. Join Broadway soprano Andrea Ross and the Lakes Area Music Festival for a tribute concert of her classics, and our favorites, opening the 2021/22 LAMF Winter Series. Enjoy the classics that Garland was known for, including Embraceable You, You Made Me Love You, and – of course – Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The Joint is Really Jumping… at the Woman’s Center of Minneapolis.

Join us starting at 6pm in the Main Lounge for a Judy-themed signature cocktails (cash bar) and complimentary hors d’oeuvres! Tickets are $40 (20 tax-deductible). This concert will also serve as the announcement of the Lakes Area Music Festival’s full Winter Series as Artists in Residence at the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis.

Ms. Ross began her career in her hometown of Boston, where she was the youngest recipient of the prestigious Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Actress. She caught the attention of legendary Broadway composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, who became her mentor and took Ms. Ross under his wing. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Universal Music Group: Classics and Jazz, produced Andrea’s solo album, Moon River, which debuted on the Top 50 UK Charts. Andrea performed as ‘Maria’ in the Broadway Tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music and has been a featured soloist with top symphony orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and KBS Symphony Orchestra in Seoul, South Korea.
