Kids in the Lakes Area won’t want to miss this week long day camp PACKED with activities exploring music that evokes mystery, magic, and storytelling! Students (entering grades 1-5) will participate in a variety of creative arts activities which will guide them through learning about the orchestral music presented at the festival’s Concert for Kids, geared towards audiences of all ages.
Participants will move, dance, sing, and play instruments, as well as exercise their creative muscles through guided improvisation every day. They will have a chance to share what they have discovered by participating in a special informal performance as a part of the Lakes Area Music Festival at the end of the week.
Invigorating musical exploration will be led by Alexander Peña – classical musician, teaching artist, and graduate of the Eastman School of Music – with a team of teachers from Honolulu, Chicago, and Baltimore, who bring expertise in acting, improvisation, movement, musical theater, and choral activities.
Fee includes t-shirt and a daily snack.
Registration deadline is July 1. Enrollment is very limited.
Need based scholarships are available. Contact Brainerd Community Ed to inquire.
