Sam Dusinberre, Trumpet

Sam Dusinberre joined the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal as 4th/Utility trumpet in May 2022. Prior to that, he played Acting 2nd trumpet with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington DC for half a season. Sam has also performed with The Florida Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony.

Sam earned his Bachelor of Music at Rice University, studying with Charlie Geyer and Barbara Butler. While there, he was a finalist in the concerto competition in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He attended the National Orchestral Institute in 2019, playing principal on Mahler’s 5th Symphony. In 2017, Sam won 2nd prize in the high school division of the National Trumpet Competition. He has also performed on Colorado Public Radio, playing the Peskin Trumpet Concerto. Sam is from Boulder, Colorado, and he enjoys hiking and skiing.
