Kina Ono, Violin

Minnesota native Kina Ono is a classically trained violinist and music educator based in Madison. She currently performs with the Madison Symphony, Madison Opera, and Terra Piano Trio as well as other orchestras and chamber ensembles across the midwest. Passionate about making live music accessible to her local community, Kina has organized chamber concerts in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Kina has performed concertos with the Longmont and Kenwood Symphonies, and during her graduate studies had the opportunity to perform alongside members of the Takács Quartet. An eclectic and curious musician, Kina loves to explore other genres of music including pop, tango and bluegrass. Kina holds degrees from the University of Colorado and the University of Minnesota. Her principal teachers were Sally O’Reilly, Charles Wetherbee, Karoly Schranz, and Claude Sim.
