The diverse musical scene in Post-Restoration London.
Step into the coffeehouses, taverns, and royal chambers of Restoration-era London, where music moved as freely between social classes as it did between styles. Artistic Advisor and violinist Chloe Fedor joins theorbo player Brandon Acker for an evening of Baroque music that captures the era’s remarkable range — from courtly elegance to street-level swagger. The program features works by Thomas Baltzar, Francesco Corbetta, Henry Eccles, Nicola Matteis, and others who shaped London’s musical life in the decades after the monarchy’s return. Fedor and Acker bring virtuosity and wit to this intimate pairing of violin and theorbo, tracing a city’s soundtrack: from the palace to the pub.
This concert includes complimentary cocktails in the Peacock Lounge, and light bites and tours of the Pillsbury Castle, beginning at 6:30pm.
