Our Composer Fellowship Program offers composers of concert music with a paid fellowship in Brainerd, Minnesota. Over the course of one week these fellows will work with mentor composer Jimmy López Bellido, workshop a string quartet with the Thalea String Quartet, and interact with our roster of 250 professional musicians. This multi-faceted program will include immersive projects for vocal, orchestral, and chamber music composition.

Audiences are invited to engage in learning and support these artists through attendance at two events:

Saturday, August 3

• 11:00 a.m. – World premieres of string quartets written by our three fellows, performed by the Thalea String Quartet (Tornstrom Auditorium, Brainerd)
• 2-4:00 p.m. – Orchestral readings of pieces by fellows, with Christian Reif and the LAMF orchestra (Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts, Brainerd)

Both activities are free and open to the public; no tickets required.
