Zachary Olmoz, Resident Artist

Zachary Olmoz is a tenor from LaGrangeville, New York. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Purchase, where he studied with Jacque Trussel, and a Master of Music degree from the Jacobs School of Music at IU, where he studied with Russell Thomas. He has performed notable roles such as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Camille in Die Lustige Witwe, Dorothée in Massenet's Cendrillon, Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro.

Most recently, Zachary has been indulging in modern works, starring as Sam Clay in the world premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay at IU, as well as continuing to work with Martin Hennessy and Stephen Kitsakos on the new opera Swimming in the Dark, starring as Ludwik Glowacki.

Parallel to his studies, Zachary has performed with local opera companies such as Nickel City Opera and Light Opera of New Jersey, as well as with local New York and New Jersey composers and conductors in choral collaborations. He is honored to be a 2023 Manetti Shrem Opera Fellow and to have participated in programs such as the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice, the Queens Summer Vocal Institute, and this season of the Lakes Area Music Festival, where Zachary is excited to continue his musical journey.
