Rebecca Edge, Violin

Violinist Rebecca Edge, based in New Orleans, joined Des Moines Metro Opera and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023. She comes to Lakes Area Music Festival in 2025. She had been performing with Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra frequently in Concertmaster or Principal roles since 2014. She has also performed with Kalamazoo Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Illinois Symphony, Brevard Symphony, Hollywood Concert Orchestra as Asst.Principal 2nd touring Japan and China in 2023 and 2025. She was previously an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. During her studies, she served in numerous orchestral leadership roles as Principal 2nd of the Indiana University Orchestra, Round Top Texas Festival Orchestra 2018, Tanglewood Institute (2013-2015) and Concertmaster of FMEA All State and OCPS All County Orchestras. She performed as concerto soloist with various professional orchestras in central Florida as prizewinner of statewide/ regional competitions. Rebecca has also performed in various chamber ensembles in Miami Music Festival, Domaine Forget in Quebéc, Castleman Quartet Program, BRAVO International Chamber Music Workshop, and at Tanglewood coached by the Muir String Quartet. She earned her BM (‘21) at Indiana University attending with the Jacobs Premier Young Artist Award under the guidance of Jorja Fleezanis and Kevork Mardirossian. Her primary teachers include Lev Gurevich and Rimma-Bergeron- Langlois.

Rebecca is also a passionate teacher and is currently faculty at Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, in addition to maintaining a private studio. Formerly she was on faculty at The People’s Music School, an El Sistema nonprofit providing excellent and comprehensive music education to Chicago students, and a 2022 OCPS All County clinician for Middle and High School Orchestra in Orlando. Rebecca is in a band called the Klezmerinas, who play music from across the Jewish diaspora.
