Rebecca Edge returns to Lakes Area Music Festival from New Orleans, where she is a tenured violinist of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra which she joined in 2023. In 2026, she joins Baltimore Chamber Orchestra’s violin section and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Concertmaster. Other positions include Section Violinist at Des Moines Metro Opera (2023, 2024 seasons), and Arizona MusicFest (2026-). Additionally she has performed extensively with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra frequently in Principal roles as a substitute since she was 15, Kalamazoo Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Illinois Symphony, Brevard Symphony, Hollywood Concert Orchestra as Asst.Principal 2nd touring Japan and China in 2023 and 2025. She was previously an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She earned her BM (‘21) from Indiana University attending with the Jacobs Premier Young Artist Award under the guidance of Professors Jorja Fleezanis and Kevork Mardirossian, coached by Kurt Muroki. Her primary teachers also include Rimma Bergeron-Langlois and Lev Gurevich. During her studies, she served in numerous orchestra leadership roles as Principal 2nd of the Indiana University Orchestra, Round Top Texas Festival Orchestra, Tanglewood Institute, and Concertmaster of FMEA All State and OCPS All County Orchestras. She performed as concerto soloist with various professional orchestras in central Florida as prizewinner of statewide/ regional competitions. Rebecca has also performed in various chamber ensembles in Miami Music Festival, Domaine Forget in Quebéc, Castleman Quartet Program, BRAVO International Chamber Music Workshop, and at Tanglewood coached by the Muir String Quartet.
Rebecca is also a passionate teacher and is faculty at Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, a vibrant community hub in New Orleans providing holistic music education to students 8-18. She also maintains a private studio from home. Formerly she was on faculty at The People’s Music School, an El Sistema nonprofit providing excellent and comprehensive music education to Chicago students, and a 2022 OCPS All County clinician for Middle and High School Orchestra in Orlando. Rebecca co-founded a band called the Klezmerinas, who play music from across the Jewish diaspora and attended Yiddish NewYork. She has enjoyed collaborating with many local New Orleans artists, creatives, and composers recording and performing in a variety of genres including jazz. Rebecca is playing with a Guillaume bow generously loaned by an anonymous donor.
