Linda Numagami, Viola

Linda Numagami is currently the acting Associate Principal Viola of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. She previously served as acting section violist from 2018-2020 in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she has also performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony.

As an advocate for social change through music, Linda was awarded a 2015 NEC Entrepreneurial Musician Grant, and a 2016 Juilliard Community Engagement Grant. Most recently she was awarded a 2021 Grow Your Art Project Grant as an alumni of the New England Conservatory of Music.

Numagami earned a Bachelors degree and Masters degree from the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School, respectively, where her teacher was Roger Tapping. She also received a postgraduate degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jonathan Vinocour.
