Chase Ward is a violinist and teacher based in Southeast Michigan, where he recently completed the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan. He was previously a section violinist in the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Lansing Symphony Orchestras, and currently performs as a substitute violinist with the St. Louis, Detroit, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras.
Chase also plays with the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra in Santa Cruz, California and has previously performed at Festival Napa Valley, National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, and Texas Strings Festival. He has served on the faculties of the Flint Institute of Music and the Sphinx Organization’s Overture Program, and is a mentor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Youth Ensembles. Chase has recently performed with violinist Apoorva Krishna, the National Arab Orchestra, Mariachi Orgullo de América, the Catalyst and Calidore Quartets, and artist Sheefy McFly. Chase has primarily studied with David Halen, Fabiola Kim, Caroline Coade, and in masterclass with Naoko Tanaka, Simon Fischer, and Bayla Keyes.
