In 1927, the very first transatlantic telephone call successfully connected the United States and England. To mark the 100th anniversary of this historic advancement in transatlantic communication, the Lakes Area Music Festival will present a program that dials into the contemporary musical connections between the Americas and the UK with works by Jamaican-born English composer Eleanor Alberga, American composer Reena Esmail, and the late English composer William Walton. This program will also include a rarely heard, Beatles-themed suite for guitar and strings by Afro-Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.

This program is curated and hosted by LAMF Artistic Advisor and Board member Loki Karuna.

This concert includes complimentary cocktails in the Peacock Lounge, and light bites and tours of the Pillsbury Castle, beginning at 6:30pm.
