Born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Emily started violin in a Suzuki program at age four. She then continued music studies at the Johns Hopkins Peabody Preparatory Program throughout her formative years, and eventually discovered her love of the viola at summer festivals such as Yellow Barn Young Artists Program and the Indiana University Summer String Academy.
Emily holds two degrees in music performance from Indiana University. Her influential teachers include Linda Fiore, Rebecca Henry, Stephen Wyrczynski, and Edward Gazouleas. Emily enjoys playing chamber music, hiking, running, and reading while snuggled up with her two cats.
