Christiana Joi Shorter has a BA in Vocal Performance from SUNY Geneseo and a MA in Music Education from NYU. She currently works for Saint Anns School an Independent, non-sectarian performance-arts focused Pre-K through 12th grade school in Brooklyn as a Pre-K through 3rd grade music teacher. She previously worked for four years in the NYC Department of Education at a High School also in Brooklyn, NY where she taught Freshman Core Music classes, chorus and successfully completed 3 large-scale musical productions (as both director and musical director) as well as 8 Choral concerts and varied other performances. In her spare time she enjoys taking in as much of the exciting music and theatre culture of NYC as she can as an “up and coming” performer in some of NY’s finest venues and also for entertainment. Christiana looks forward to furthering her experiences with music and education colleagues, youths and music itself this summer at the Lakes Area Music Festival for her sixth year!
