Alex Chambers-Ozasky, Cello

Originally from the Twin Cities, Alex Chambers-Ozasky enjoys a multifaceted career as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician based in Madison, WI. Alex is a core member with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and also serves as the Assistant Principal cellist of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. In the summer of 2021, Alex served as principal cellist of the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado. An avid chamber musician, Alex has appeared as a core member of the Lake Lanier Music Festival, performing chamber music throughout North Georgia. He has also been on faculty at the Manitou Chamber Music Festival in Colorado Springs, where he coached chamber groups and performed with the faculty string quartet. In the fall, Alex will appear as a soloist with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Philharmonic, performing the Boccherini and Schumann cello concertos, respectively.

Alex earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where he studied with Joseph Johnson, Principal cellist of the Toronto Symphony. Alex holds a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from DePaul University, and a Master’s from University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was awarded a fellowship position in the graduate Hunt String Quartet. In his free time, Alex loves playing pickleball, watching and discussing movies, eating, and laughing with friends and family.
