Parker Lee was appointed Principal Timpanist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in May 2017. Additionally, he has served as guest timpanist with the National Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and the Chattanooga Symphony. Parker holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, where he studied primarily with John Tafoya. He completed his graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music while studying with Paul Yancich of the Cleveland Orchestra. Parker also studied with Ted Atkatz at the Lynn Conservatory and Tom Freer of the Cleveland Orchestra at Cleveland State University. Parker is a proud endorser of Freer Percussion.
