David Behm is a bass trombonist from Rosemount, Minnesota. He recently received a master’s degree in music performance from DePaul University in Chicago, where he studied with Mark Fisher of the Lyric Opera orchestra and Charlie Vernon of the Chicago Symphony. David also holds a music education degree from the University of Wisconsin: Eau Claire, where he followed his passion for teaching as he developed as a player.
David has performed in a variety of ensembles: orchestras in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois, wind ensembles, big bands, brass ensembles, and numerous chamber ensembles. He has also been a clinician at the Shell Lake Trombone Week and has worked with multiple students as a private teacher around the Twin Cities area. David has performed in master classes for Jim Miller, Randy Hawes, Michael Mulcahy, Gene Pokorny, Martin Schippers, Nico Schippers, and the trombone section of the Milwaukee Symphony.
Outside of trombone David is an avid consumer of fine coffees, craft beer, and wilderness. He caught the mountain climbing fever on a recent trip to Colorado and hopes to summit a few more. In the meantime he can be found increasing his already sizable trip counts to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and beautiful National Parks.
