Baritone Eric Broker, a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, graduated summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in 2015 where he received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Tracey Engleman. As a boy soprano, Mr. Broker performed the role of Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors and sang in the world premiere of Stephen Paulus’ The Star Gatherer. While at St. Olaf, he performed Carol Olson in Street Scene, Pangloss in Candide, Superintendent Budd in Albert Herring, and the titular role in the world premiere of Fabrizio’s Comet. Mr. Broker has appeared as a soloist with the St. John’s Abbey Schola, The St. John’s Boys’ Choir, the Canon Valley Regional Orchestra, and The St. Olaf Choir. Most recently, he appeared in Metamorphosis Opera Theater’s production of Milhaud’s Médée. Mr. Broker has received a first place award from the Minnesota National Association of Teachers of Singing and is a two-time finalist in the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition.
