Dan is a freelance horn player and a graduate of the University of Minnesota. While completing his degree in performance, he studied under the Minnesota Orchestra’s Principal horn Michael C. Gast and Caroline Lemen as well as other members of the orchestra.
Dan just returned from a year in Sarajevo, Bosna i Hercegovina where he held the position of second horn and associate principal for the Sarajevo Philharmonic and Sarajevo Opera Orchestras. He loved his time there, performing historic concerts, collaborating with musicians from all over the world, rehearsing in many languages and consuming cevapi and burek with his friends. Although opportunities in the Balkans were available to him, Dan decided to return to home to his loved ones and to continue pursuing a freelance career in the Midwest.
Dan is a lover of both high horn and low horn playing. His chamber groups often feature his high horn playing and Lakes Area often features his low horn playing. His dream job is to be a 2nd horn of an orchestra while being 1st horn of a well known chamber group on the side. Mr. Worsham is also a published composer, arranger and transcriber. His arrangements and original pieces for chamber groups have been played by musicians all over the world and continue to gain popularity abroad. Dan enjoys playing piano and singing in his free moments as well as socializing with friends and strangers alike.
