Kids in the Lakes Area won’t want to miss this week long day camp PACKED with activities exploring music that evokes mystery, magic, and storytelling! Students (entering grades 1-5) will participate in a variety of creative arts activities which will guide them through learning about the orchestral music presented at the festival’s Family Concert, geared towards audiences of all ages.
Participants will move, dance, sing, and play instruments, as well as exercise their creative muscles through guided improvisation every day. They will have a chance to share what they have discovered by participating in a special informal performance as a part of the Lakes Area Music Festival at the end of the week.
Invigorating musical exploration will be led by Alexander Peña – classical musician and teaching artist from the Eastman Community School in Rochester, NY, with a team of teachers from New York and Chicago who bring expertise in acting, improvisation, movement, musical theater, and choral activities.
